For plastics, packaging and chemical makers and traders

Billing and Production Software for Plastic, Packaging and Chemical Businesses

A plastics or packaging unit buys granules by the bag, moulds them into crates, cans or pouches, grinds the rejects back into the next run, sends some work to a job worker, and sells to dealers who keep stock on sale or return.

  • BOM with wastage, production in kg or litres
  • Scrap and regrind booked back into stock
  • Job work challans and the ITC-04 file
  • Dealer stock on sale or return
A VyapRise tax invoice from a demo plastics and packaging maker to a dairy: crates and carry bags with their production batch numbers, liner bags by the kg, stretch film by the roll, BOPP tape by the box and PET jars by the piece, with vehicle, transporter and LR number.

What is Plastic & Packaging Billing Software?

VyapRise is billing and production software for this trade: a bill of materials with wastage, production orders in kg or litres, scrap and regrind back into stock, batch numbers on every run, job work challans with the ITC-04 file, sale orders and delivery challans, dealer price lists and stock placed at dealers.

Choose Plastics, packaging & chemicals when you sign up. GST invoices and other units work on Free; manufacturing, job work, batches, sale orders, challans, price lists and dealer stock are part of Pro, free for your first 7 days.

What a plastics and packaging business needs from its software

Raw material in, finished goods out, scrap in between, and goods that leave the factory before they are sold.

  • BOM and production

Write the bill of materials once: granules, masterbatch and additives per crate, with a wastage %. A production order explodes the BOM, checks material, issues it and puts finished goods into stock with a cost sheet. Multi-level BOMs cover semi-finished parts. Pro.

    Manufacturing software
  • Scrap and regrind into stock

Book runners, rejects and lumps from a run into stock at a value, credited to that run's cost, so regrind can go into the next BOM as a material. Pro.

  • Kg, litres and batches

Production takes decimal quantities in kg and litres. Give each run a batch number on production, stock entries and GRN, and sell from the batch. Granules bought by the 25 kg bag can be issued by the kg with another unit on the item. Production and batches are Pro; other units work on every plan.

  • Job work with ITC-04

Send moulds or material to a job worker on a job work challan into his godown, receive back processed goods, returns and scrap, watch the one-year and three-year deadlines, and download the ITC-04 CSV for your CA. Pro.

  • Sale orders and planning

Take a buyer's order for 5,000 crates on a sale order and bill it in parts. Plan production from open sale orders: what to make and what to buy, as draft plans and purchase orders. Pro.

    Sale orders
  • Delivery challans

Dispatch on a delivery challan with vehicle details, bill several challans on one invoice, and take back returns on a return challan. Pro.

    What a delivery challan is
  • Stock at dealers

Place goods with a dealer on sale or return: they leave on a numbered delivery challan into the dealer's own godown and stay your stock, with no sale or tax yet. Invoice what the dealer reports sold, take back the rest, and see goods over six months flagged. Pro.

  • Dealer and distributor rates

Put dealers and distributors on price lists, with quantity slabs and dated schemes. Their bills take their own rate by themselves. Pro.

One order through a plastics unit

Simple numbers, so you can follow each step.

The order. A dairy orders 2,000 blue 20 litre crates. You enter a sale order; production planning shows you need 3,300 kg of granules and have 2,500 kg, so a draft purchase order for the rest is ready to send.

The run. The BOM says 1.6 kg of granules and 20 g of blue masterbatch per crate, with 3% wastage. You release a production order for 2,000 crates; it checks the material, issues it, and the job card logs good and rejected quantity for each shift.

The scrap. The run gives 1,960 good crates and 70 kg of rejects and runners. The rejects go into stock as regrind at a value, which lowers the run's cost, and the regrind is a material for the next BOM.

Printing outside. The crates need the dairy's logo printed. You send 1,000 at a time to a job worker on a job work challan; they come back printed, with 6 spoilt crates recorded as scrap on the receipt. The ITC-04 file has every movement at quarter end.

Dispatch and billing. The crates leave on two delivery challans with the vehicle numbers. At month end you bill both challans on one invoice, and the sale order shows 40 crates still to deliver.

A dealer's stock. A dealer in the next district takes 300 buckets on sale or return. They leave on a numbered challan into his godown and stay in your stock. When he reports 180 sold, you invoice the 180 from that godown.

  • Costing per run includes material, labour, machine hours and overhead %, with standard cost and margin.
  • Plastic articles and chemicals carry different GST rates; confirm each HSN and rate with your CA.

Is VyapRise right for your plastics or packaging business?

The gaps, before you start.

A good fit if you

  • Mould, extrude or blow plastics, convert packaging or blend chemicals in batches
  • Want BOM, production, scrap and costing in the same place as billing and GST
  • Send work to job workers and need the ITC-04 file
  • Sell through dealers, some on sale or return, see distributor billing
  • Want unlimited staff users without a per-user charge (Pro)

Not a fit yet if you

Need machine integration (cycle counts read from the moulding machine), mould life tracking or a shop-floor app: VyapRise has a machines master and job cards you fill in. It does not generate e-way bills or e-invoices. It runs in the browser and needs internet; there is no offline mode.

Common questions

Is there software for a small plastic manufacturing unit?

Yes. VyapRise has a bill of materials with wastage, production plans and orders, job cards, quality checks, scrap into stock and costing, in the same app as GST billing and stock. Manufacturing is part of Pro, at ₹1,499 per year, with unlimited users.

Can I book rejects and regrind back into stock?

Yes, on Pro. Scrap and by-products from a run are booked into stock at a value and credited to that run's cost, so regrind can be used as a material in the next BOM.

Does it handle job work and ITC-04?

Yes, on Pro. Send material on job work challans to the job worker's godown, record what comes back as processed, returned or scrap, see the one-year and three-year deadlines, and download the ITC-04 CSV.

Can I keep stock at a dealer on sale or return?

Yes, on Pro. Goods go on a numbered delivery challan into the dealer's own godown and stay your stock with no sale or tax. You invoice what the dealer reports sold and take back the rest; goods over six months with a dealer are flagged.

Can production be in kg and litres?

Yes, on Pro. Production quantities can have decimals in kg or litres, and each item can have other units, such as BAG = 25 KGS for granules, with stock kept in one unit.
