VyapRise vs myBillBook
A myBillBook alternative for businesses that have outgrown a billing app
myBillBook is a mobile-first billing app with native Android and iOS apps. VyapRise runs in the browser instead, and goes deeper behind the bill: double-entry books behind every document, and on Pro a full purchase cycle, multiple warehouses, manufacturing and unlimited users with no per-user charge.

What myBillBook does well
myBillBook is built for the owner who bills from a phone. Its plan page lists Android, iOS and web access on every plan, with a desktop app on the higher ones, and it is quick to learn for someone who has never used accounting software.
The same page shows one user plus a CA login on the lower plans and more users on the top plan, unlimited godowns from its Pro plan, and e-way bills, e-invoicing and POS billing on its Pro Max plan. For a single shop owner who wants a quick GST bill on the phone, that is a sensible package.
VyapRise makes a different trade. It has no native app — you use the phone browser — but it goes further behind the bill, into purchase control, double-entry books and production. For a broader view, read Tally vs Vyapar vs myBillBook.

Moving your data from myBillBook
Take an Excel export of your parties and items from myBillBook, or type them into a simple sheet, and bring the file in with Import Data.
| What you have in myBillBook | How it comes into VyapRise |
|---|---|
| Customers and suppliers | Export the list to Excel or CSV and load it with Import Data. Match the columns, preview every row, and fix anything listed in the error file. Nothing is saved until you confirm. |
| Items and raw materials | The same Import Data screen (materials can carry a reorder level). Item opening stock is not in the import; enter it on each item afterwards. Files can be .csv, .xlsx or .xls, up to 10 MB each. |
| What each party owes you | Enter it as an opening balance, so the customer ledger starts where your old books end. |
| Bills still unpaid from before | Load them with the Open invoices import, on any plan: each unpaid bill comes in as an opening bill of its customer, and the opening balance becomes what is still owed. No sale, tax or stock is booked twice. When the money comes, Receive Payment offers the bill, or you record the receipt against Old invoices (not in VyapRise); receipts are on Pro. |
| Past invoices and bills | Not imported, apart from the unpaid invoices above. Keep myBillBook, or its PDFs, for reference and start VyapRise from a clean date. |
There is no one-click import from myBillBook, but Import Data recognises the column names in myBillBook's Excel exports, so parties and items map with little manual matching. A party file with both customers and suppliers is loaded once as customers and once as suppliers.
A typical week after switching from myBillBook
A hardware and electrical shop on Pro, with a counter, a small godown and three staff. The figures are only an example.
Every staff member signs in with their own login, on the shop PC or in a phone browser. The cashier can bill; the store keeper can receive goods; only the owner sees profit reports. The owner sets each role once.
When a supplier delivers, the store keeper records a GRN against the purchase order. The purchase bill is created from it, and the GST input, the stock, the amount payable and the supplier ledger update in one step.
At the counter, items go onto the bill by scanning their barcodes with a USB scanner. For loose items with no barcode, the shop prints its own in-store EAN-13 labels on A4 sheets or a thermal label roll — see barcode billing.
A contractor buys ₹25,000 of material on credit with a 30-day credit period. The due date is set from it, and the outstanding report shows the bill as overdue on the right day. The reminder appears in the in-app bell, and on Pro an automatic payment-reminder email goes to the contractor; a call or a WhatsApp message is still up to you.
At month end, the owner opens P&L and balance sheet on Pro. They come from the same entries as the bills, so there is no separate bookkeeping to catch up on.
Who should stay on myBillBook
VyapRise usually fits
- Shops and traders with several staff who each need their own login
- Businesses that buy against purchase orders and check goods before booking the bill
- Small makers and assemblers who need manufacturing
- Owners who want books their CA can use, with Tally XML on Pro
Stay on myBillBook if
A native phone app is essential, or you need e-way bills or e-invoices generated from your billing software (their plan page lists both on Pro Max). VyapRise has no Play Store app, needs internet and does not generate e-way bills or e-invoices. If you need to bill offline, VyapRise cannot do it; check whether myBillBook's app does. A one-person shop billing from a phone may simply find myBillBook easier.
Should you switch from myBillBook?
Switch if…
- More than two or three people need to log in, and per-plan user counts are getting in the way
- You buy against purchase orders and want goods receipts with a QC status before the bill is booked
- You make or assemble what you sell and need BOM, production orders and job cards
- You want proper double-entry books — trial balance, P&L, balance sheet — from the same entries as your bills
Probably don't switch if…
Stay on myBillBook if a native phone app matters more than anything else, or if you need e-way bills or e-invoices generated from your billing software. VyapRise has no Play Store app and does not generate e-way bills or e-invoices. A one-person shop that bills mostly from a phone may find myBillBook simpler.

Common questions
How much does VyapRise cost compared to myBillBook?
The Free plan is free forever for one user, the owner: sales billing with up to 10 invoices a month, 30 items and 10 customers, stock in one warehouse and reports for the current month. Pro is ₹1,499 per year and adds unlimited invoices, purchase bills, receipts and payments, staff users, quotations, orders and challans, purchase orders and GRN, more warehouses, manufacturing, POS, full accounting and GST reports, and every new company can try Pro free for 7 days. Pro has no per-user charge.
Can I move my data from myBillBook?
Yes. Import Data brings in customers, suppliers and items from Excel or CSV on every plan, and Pro adds Tally XML for ledgers and vouchers, so your accountant can keep working in Tally while your team uses VyapRise. From any other software, export your items and customers to Excel and import them, then enter each item's opening stock and each party's opening balance, so your books start where the old ones end.
Do I need to install any software?
No. VyapRise runs in any browser on a PC, Mac, tablet or phone, and can be added to an Android home screen like an app. Nothing to install on a specific machine.
Is VyapRise a good myBillBook alternative if I bill from my phone?
It depends on how you work. VyapRise has no native app; on a phone you use the browser and can add it to your home screen. If you bill from one phone and need nothing more, myBillBook may suit you better. VyapRise is the stronger myBillBook alternative once you need several staff logins, a purchase cycle, double-entry books or manufacturing.
Can I bring my myBillBook parties and items across?
Yes, through Excel, on any plan (on Free, up to 30 items and 10 customers). Import Data recognises the column names in myBillBook's Excel exports of parties and items, so the columns are matched for you. A party file with both customers and suppliers is loaded once as customers and once as suppliers. Each customer's unpaid invoices can come in as opening bills; receiving their payment as a receipt is on Pro. It is not a one-click import, and past paid invoices are not imported.
Is multi-warehouse on the Free plan?
No, multiple warehouses are on Pro. The Free plan keeps stock in one warehouse, with weighted-average stock value and low-stock alerts, allows 10 sales invoices a month per company, 30 items and 10 customers, and is for the owner alone. Pro, at ₹1,499 per year, lets you create as many warehouses as you need, keep stock per warehouse and transfer between them, with unlimited users. Every new company gets Pro free for 7 days.
Does VyapRise do e-way bills or e-invoicing?
No. VyapRise does not generate e-way bills or e-invoices. Generate them on the government portal from your invoice details; the invoice carries the vehicle and transport details. On Pro, VyapRise prepares the bulk-upload JSON to upload under Generate Bulk on the e-way bill portal; the e-way bill number itself comes from the portal. If you need either generated from your billing software, myBillBook's top plan lists both.
